National Geographic ••• Secrets Of The Bees

We created a permanent floral billboard (aka the Bloomboard) to promote a National Geographic show, Secrets Of The Bees, a documentary presented by explorer Bertie Gregory and executive produced by James Cameron, installed in Heaton Park, Manchester. Created in collaboration with our pals at Build Hollywood and the Manchester & District Beekeepers’ Association, the unique installation has been created to help the plight of the bee, and make a positive impact, especially in the city where the creature is a civic emblem. The bloomboard features at least 500 plants to help bees pollinate, and the timber for the The Secrets of the Bees sign was sustainably sourced from a 90 year old cedar of Lebanon, which had already been felled.
Alongside the blooming billboard, we created a number of mini bee hotels that acted as ads in around urban areas across Manchester .
